We build because we believe that everyone, everywhere should have a healthy, affordable place to call home. When a family helps build or improve a place they can call home, they are also building a better community, a better life for themselves.
COVID-19 has forced everyone to deeply consider the fundamental importance of home — of having safe, decent and affordable shelter. For far too many families, “shelter in place” only exacerbated the conditions with which they have struggled for so long. Since 1976, Habitat has helped families around the world build and improve places to call home because we believe that a home and the community that surrounds it should be a source of solace and a source of strength. Places to be healthy and thriving, a springboard to stability and opportunity. Now more than ever.
Red River Valley Habitat for Humanity is on a mission to eliminate sub-standard housing in the greater Grand Forks Community, but we need your help! We can rely entirely on donations from individuals, foundations, corporations and faith-based groups, so your gift ensures our ability to continue serving families in need. Your donation will help families in need of a decent place to build long-term financial security. With an affordable, stable home, families have more to spend on food, medicine, child care, education and other essentials. Your support can help us do more in all the many ways that Habitat builds.

OTHER WAYS TO DONATE
RRVHFH is seeking donations of working appliances, gently-used furniture, and usable building materials. Habitat intends to stock the items for use at an upcoming “Habitat Sale” that will raise funds to meet the affiliate’s goal of providing decent, affordable housing to families in the greater Grand Forks area.
What Habitat Accepts:
· Cabinets, up-to-date and not damaged
· Plumbing, usable fixtures, parts and supplies
· Electrical, usable fixtures, parts and supplies
· Windows, insulated glass, no broken glass, no sashes accepted
· Hardware, knobs, hinges, locks, nails, cabinet pulls, nuts, bolts, screws
· Lumber, clean, no cracks, splits, nails
· Doors and door accessories
· Roofing, no scrap metal materials please
· Tools, hand, garden, working power
· Flooring, wood (clean), ceramic tile, vinyl
· Millwork/trim, wood casing and base (clean), vinyl base, ceramic
· Furnaces and air conditioners
· Large Appliances in working condition
· Furniture – no rips or stains
· Kitchen and bath fixtures, neutral color
· Bricks
What Habitat Can Not Accept:
· Televisions or computer monitors
· Broken bricks
· Broken glass or Mirrors
· Open or partial cans of paint
· Paint thinner or other hazardous or toxic chemicals
· Pesticides
· Unframed glass
· Open or used wallpaper
· Used carpet
· Beds, mattresses or bed parts
· Carpet pads
· Window screens or Storm windows
· Window treatments, i.e. shades and curtains
· Partial sheet goods (less than ½ sheet)
